I've recently started to publish my first pictures from my trip to Athens this year. I'm not going to put all the photos into one album. Instead, I have set up a page, where I want to post individual stories. The first one: The Panathenaic Stadium

Exhibition of posters of all Olympics of modern times. See the full album here.

Panathenaic Stadium

The stadium looks like an ancient race course - but it is not. It is a reconstruction (from 1896) of an ancient Greek stadium. It is constructed entirely of marble. When you're standing alone as a tourist in the middle of the arena, you get overwhelmed by its impressive dimensions. For me, it is one of the top attractions of Athens.

And next to the stadium there is an exhibition hall. It contains an exhibition of all the Olympic torches that were used in the Olympics so far. Why should it be worth seeing? Next to each torch the posters of the respective game are also exposed. And, believe me, some designs are really weird! Weird or just a reflection of the spirit of the twenties? Build your own opinion.
